I. We need to be experiencing loving relationships. (Philemon 1-2)
A. We are blessed with brothers and sisters in Christ.
B. We are blessed if we have a godly family.
II. We must be active in the service of God. (Philemon 2)
Spectators have trouble with forgiveness because they rarely see the need of it in their own lives and tend to emphasize the faults of others.
III. We need to be experiencing the grace and peace of God in our own lives. (Philemon 3)
IV. We need others to be praying for us. (Philemon 4-6)
V. We must be heading in the right direction, i.e., we must be heading God's way. (Philemon 5-7)
A. We must have Jesus in the primary place of life.
B. We must work to refresh others.
1. Philemone comforted Paul.
2. Philemon comforted all the saints.
VI. We need to continue to experience more of Christ's character. (Philemon 6)
A. Our knowledge needs to be deepening.
B. Our faith needs to be shared.
