Unleavened Bread: Sanctification Following Redemption

Apr 13, 2014

| Scripture: Leviticus 23:4–23:8 | Tags: Holiness, Feasts, Sanctification

Though leaven may be a small thing, it affects the whole of that into which it is placed.

Passover brought redemption to Israel, and redemption was to result in a holy life.

I.  We must rid our lives of the leaven of the Pharisees.  (Luke 12:1)

This is the leaven of hypocrisy.

II.  We must rid our lives of the leaven of Herod.  (Mark 8:15)

This is the leaven of secularism.

III.  We must rid our loves of the leaven of the tolerance of evil.  (1 Cor. 5:6-7)

This is the leaven of an unbiblical tolerance.

IV.  We must rid our lives of all false worship and false doctrine.  (Ex. 5:1; 20:1-6; 32:4-6, 27-28, 35)

This is the leaven of heresy.

     A.  God does not approve tolerance of all things in life and worship.

     B.  God never promotes what works above what is right.

     C.  Materialism is a modern church idol.

     D.  Christian leaders have, at times, become idols.

     E.  Church growth has become a modern day idol for many in the church.
